The South Broward Writer’s Critique Group is made up of local writers and illustrators, published and non-published, who meet monthly to discuss their writing or art projects.

We critique each others work in a constructive and positive way and we share industry news. This interaction gives us a new and rewarding perspective, which helps us grow in our writing careers. Our members come from throughout South and West Broward.

We welcome all!

We meet every last Tuesday of the month (except for the month of December) at Barnes and Nobles bookstore located on Pines Blvd and the Northeast corner of Flamingo Road. (Across from Pembroke Lakes Mall.) We meet at 7 p.m.

Many of our writer’s are members of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. The SCBW&I, formed in 1971, is the only international organization to offer a variety of services (conferences, awards, grants, newsletter, and publishers’ information) to people who write, illustrate, or share a vital interest in children’s literature.

SCBW&I has currently more than 19,000 members worldwide, in over 70 regions, making it the largest children's writing organization in the world. It presents the highly known annual Golden Kite Award for the best fiction and non-fiction books.
